Apoyo a Moratoria deuda Centroamérica / Endorse Debt moratorium for Central America

Estimadxs colegas,

(In English Below)

Dear all,

Hurricanes ETA and IOTA were devastating as they hit Central America. Never in history had two hurricanes of the highest category – IOTA being the strongest in 2020 – hit the same area of the Caribbean Coast, in the same month and barely 15 days apart.

Vulnerable population is under a difficult situation, exacerbated by a context of Covid-19, inequality and poverty.Latindadd members in Central America are making a call for a debt moratorium and debt restructuring, binding with a social agenda to fight the emergency in the middle of a profound crisis. This call, form civil society organisations and networks, will be submitted with specific letters to the G20, G77 and the governments and parliamentarians from Central America countries.
